Fake Deceiving Tractor Parts Emails
When Easy Tractor Parts opened for business in 2005, a customer from an Asian country communicated via email requesting original Caterpillar injector nozzles. The order was large, approximately $22,000 and the profit was a handsome 20% ($4,400) in one deal. In some ways, it was too good to be true. However, novice businessmen are easly conned and the deal was brokered. The customer communicated via email and wanted the parts rushed. He (? assuming its a “he”) requested DHL. He provided three credit card numbers and names, saying that the credit cards were his friends, thus the different names. He was in a rush for the parts, and sent emails every four hours wanting to know the tracking number of the package. Its like being pressured to send the parts out. Finally, it was done and the package was sent.
He immediately placed another order for $15,000. I called my supplier who asked me if I know who this person was. Large transactions of these types sent express out of the USA and Canada were usually scams. With a pounding heart, I now placed a call to the telephone number that was provided. The number was not real. I searched in that country’s yellow pages for the company’s name, found it and a telephone number, and called. The company and address were real, however, the owner confirmed that he never placed an order for parts and none of his employees had authorization to do so. It was confirmed, I’ve been scammed.
The next step was to call DHL and request a parts return. DHL sent a request for the parts to be reurned. In 5 days time, the parts were back in my possession.
The scam was completed with stolen credit card information. if he had gained possession of the goods, then my company would have been issued a charge back by the credit card company, and now I’ll be stuck with a debt of $17600 in the early stages of opening a business. The person had some arrangement to take possession of the stolen parts before it was delivered to the address.
Even though that was almost seven years ago, we still receive these kinds of emails every week. So, I’ve decided to publish a list of these fake pilfering emails as a guilde to businessmen to avoid being a victim of credit card fraud.
Tips to Avoid Credit Card Fraud
- Most honest customers will use a valid telephone number. Collect a telephone number and whilst talking with the customer correspond it with the caller ID display.
- Accept credit cards only from US and Canadian customers. (sorry to Australia, Germany, New Zealand etc )
- International customers must pay in full by wire transfer only
- Do not accept International checks. These are forgeries and the forger is hoping that the parts will be shipped before the check is verified as a forgery ( we have had these as well)
- For customers in the USA and Canada who communicates via email and wants to pay by credit cards, they should be sent a credit card authorization form, requiring a copy of the card , including the back and front, a signature, and the form must be accompanied by a copy of a government issued identification. A few years ago, a person by the name of Kimberly Clark from California wanted to purchase $32,000 of injector nozzles again. This time the address was in the US. Regardless, the credit card authorization form was sent to her (assuming its a “her”). She was never heard from again. Later, in a conversation with a colleague from a VISA frauds department from one of the major banks, it was confirmed that the name Kimberly Clark was responsible for several frauds in the USA. That simple credit card authorization form will save money, headache and pain.
How to Report Spoof Emails
- Report Gmail Accounts to to Google using this form
- For hotmail accounts, forward the entire email to abuse@hotmail.com
- For yahoo email accounts, use this form to report the email accounts
Starting from today, I’ll be publishing the fraudulent emails.

I sent him the Credit card authorization form which he signed but did not send his photo ID.
He called me if I had processed CC payment. I found out that his VISA card was Citi visa card. I called citi visa card and they told me that this card was cancelled few years ago and is not valid.

George Travis made the same injector order with me. I didn’t give it to much thought nor did it raise much attention. The thing that got our attention is that he would not give me his phone number so i could call him back. He did tell me that he was is Dallas, then when the parts were in my hands he told me that he was is Corpus Christit and he will pick them up. No big deal, his cc charge went through. But then I got an email for a pick up tag to an address to New York. When I saw that I decided to check him out, and found this site. Fed-X came and I regretfully told them that I would not ship anything. I should have boxed him a bag of cow shit, after all this Texas. I even sent him a email telling him that he was a scammer.

I get these emails all the time wanting to buy hydraulic pumps or parts. Sometimes I send these idiots a reply telling them that “At this time we are only accepting Gold and Silver as payment. No stolen credit cards”. I do like the idea of shipping them a box of cow shit, but they are probably using someone’s DHL account, not their own.

You all can help by placing a link from your website to this page to spread the word to other vendors on how to detect scammers. The more this information spreads the least effective the scammers will be.

I searched his name, the business name, address and phone number and nothing. So I decided to track the IP address and low and behold it came from Nigeria. Here is the email he sent.

I sent him a credit card form to fill out and told him we would need a copy of the credit card front and back along with photo id in order to process his order…I have yet to hear back from him. Thanks again everyone.
That was a VERY interesting read. I have had the diesel injector request at least once a week since 2010. And alot of others that are very similar.I simply delete them. If it looks like a legit business I google it before I spend anytime quoting anything.
They use reputable company names and addreses with an incorrect email address. After that, assuming that the person has taken the bait, then they suddenly switch the mailing address. Sometimes I get emails to me from me!!!
